HogBerry
During my internship at Frame48, I had the opportunity to work under the mentorship of multiple studio’s artists and create a personal project using their production pipeline. Over the span of 11 days, I developed Hogberry, a small mystical creature that combines the characteristics of a hedgehog and a strawberry. This project allowed me to explore the studio’s tools and workflow while developing a complete asset from concept to final look.

Concept
Because the project had a very short timeline, I had only about an hour to develop the initial concept. I quickly gathered references of small, cute creatures and used them to create a simple sketch that established Hogberry’s overall shape and personality. I was especially inspired by Studio Ghibli and the films of Hayao Miyazaki, which were a big part of my childhood. Growing up watching Miyazaki’s films influenced my love for whimsical characters and imaginative worlds, and I wanted to bring that same sense of charm and wonder into Hogberry’s design.
